I grew up in Indianola, Iowa, and still spend a lot of time there with family. That’s where I learned a strong Midwestern work ethic and how to treat people the right way.
I graduated from the University of Iowa in 2009 with a finance degree, right at the height of the financial collapse, which wasn’t exactly ideal timing. I took a job with Casey’s General Stores setting up shelving in new stores just to get started. Through hard work and taking on whatever job was in front of me, I worked my way up into a real estate manager role covering six states.
That’s where I got my start in land. I handled site selection, negotiated deals, designed sites, and managed purchases for new stores and existing operators. Over time, I was involved in more than $250 million in transactions, which gave me a clear understanding of what makes a property work and how to structure a deal the right way.
In 2021, after a shift in company culture, I decided it was time to move on and went to work for D.R. Horton, the largest homebuilder in the country. There, I oversaw the purchase and development of finished lots, negotiating more than 1,500 lots per year across both single family and multi family projects.
After a couple years, I stepped away from the corporate world to build something of my own. I wanted to take what I had learned over the past 15 years and use it in a way that actually helps people on a more personal level.
Today I am based out of Brixey, Missouri near Gainesville, working primarily with land, farm, and rural properties across the Ozarks. Most days you can find me out on a piece of property somewhere with my Australian Shepherd, Boomer.
Outside of real estate, I’ve spent over 20 years flying hot air balloons and competing across the country and internationally. I’m a Kubicek Balloons dealer, a top ranked pilot in the United States, and a member of the U.S. World Team. It’s something I take pride in and it has shaped how I approach everything I do. Preparation, discipline, and making the right decisions when it matters carry over into business every day.
At the end of the day, I am a people person. My strength is building relationships, figuring out what someone actually needs, and helping them get there. My approach is simple, put others before myself and personal success will follow. It does not work the other way around.
A big part of what I do is connecting people. I may not always know the exact person you are trying to reach, but I am usually connected to someone who does.
If you are looking to buy, sell, or just talk through an idea, reach out. Let’s find where we can make some connections and put a deal together.
